About

Hey there! My name’s Taylor and I’m the owner of this site.

TaylorChaseWhite.com serves a multitude of functions, including a platform for me to share my views, recent events from my life, projects I’m working or have worked on, and perhaps even a few nuggets of knowledge.

Some things about me…

“About me” is a big subject. Let’s take a top down approach and start big to make this more manageable.

I am a creative and driven individual. My goal is to create a lasting legacy in every area, product, or endeavor I work on. I want to be able to look back at the world and see the impact I have made on others lives, and for the world to look back at my life and see the same.

Wooah. That was a doozie.

Interests

Here are a few of my favorite things:

Filmography

Every year I like to make a summary video documenting my year, and over the years I’ve made a number of sketch videos with my brothers or friends.

Software Development

I wrote the code for this website 😛 !

Politics / Analyzing Forms of Governance

This has always been of interest to me, but until recently, it had not been more than a hobby. As of August 2020, I’ve incorporated a company, OurGov Limited Liability Co. to help businesses most efficiently interact with regulators.

Politics, economics, and anthropology are very important to me. I normally do not espouse these interests to the world for fear of alienating friends with strong opinions, but I put considerable thought into the nature of our government, economy and society on a day to day basis. I find it interesting how similar human behavior is to that of animals. We are ultimately driven by the same instincts or urges, hunger, sex, societal rank (power), and our actions can be guided by these desires.

But alas, that is a post for another time, let us continue.

Using Data To Make Decisions

In all of my roles in my career I’ve been fascinated with using and tracking data. It is incredibly valuable for understanding the current market/scenario, and understanding what value an individual or team is contributing to a particular goal.

Below is an example of work from one Saturday night when I was curious to see how common my cousin’s baby name was relative to all the names in 2016.

Obviously this is a trivial and somewhat facetious example of using data, however I have found that in any decision made in a professional environment, having data to support that decision is incredibly valuable.

It is difficult to improve society if you aren’t measuring it.
